All these bronzite cabs are VERY chatoyant and bright. They are an amazing stone to see in life the way the harlequin patches flash!
Some call this stone Fire Jade as well as Wyoming Pietersite but it is actually Bronzite from Wyoming. Not jade or pietersite at all.
Bronzite is a dark brown or greenish-brown, opaque variety of iron rich Enstatite (ferroan Enstatite) and Hypersthene with a submetallic luster. Bronzite is formed through weathering of normal Enstatite and Hypersthene. Hypersthene is an Inosilicate (Magnesium Iron Silicate) mineral type.
I can really understand why some folks call it Wyoming pietersite, (I think it's even better than the best pietersite and you see a lot less of this stone) The yellow gold and copper bronze harlequin patches flash and twinkle like bright lights as you move the stone around...VERY chatoyant patches. I've sold these stones for many years and these stones are some of the BEST! Excellent colors and chatoyant! These bright patches glow even in very low lighting, a premium stone for sure!
