A recently imported stone that comes from Indonesia near the Mount Papanayan volcano. It's sold as Bumblebee jasper. Not really a jasper, when i cut this it seems to be a travertine onyx with a little calcite mixed in. The miners website says the locals collect sulphur in the area so the yellow is probably from sulphur.
Well cut cab with bright colors and pattern that flows with the stone's design. For Bumble bee a few minuscule pits is typical even in the best material. Much of the rough is very pitted, it takes the best quality rough to get nice cabs This cab is a nice addition to your collection at a fair price.
Flat back and low domed top. Both sides have a smooth glassy polish. A couple or so slightly undercut spots on the back only due to the softer calcite and a couple pin point size pits on the stone's top.
